Central Iowa is committed to growing its communities through urban development and expansion. Wyckoff Heating & Cooling is proud of our role in bringing home comfort to the individuals and families who relocate to the new apartments, townhomes and homes in our communities. This year, we have three exciting projects coming to life in the heart of our state – downtown Des Moines.
Over the past couple of years, Hubbell Realty Co. has invested in the downtown Bridge District, a revitalization of the former River Hills Business Park. The company’s 16-acre development will add more than 500 residential units to the east bank of the Des Moines River, just south of I-235. Wyckoff is proud to be a part of the revitalization and growth of downtown, through opportunities that invest in central Iowa.
Our current focus is on three key projects, including:
Scheduled to open late this year, Verve is located at 700 East Fourth Street in downtown Des Moines. The apartment building is an upscale, urban community located near the East Village and Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. The complex will feature 128 units, including micro apartments as well as one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes. The five-story building will have a first-floor parking garage and expanded community amenities on the second through fifth floors. Current plans include a second-story terrace, third-story patio, and fourth- and fifth-story club with community room, fitness center, cinema and business center. Another great feature of Verve will be one of the first Parcel Management Systems that ensures residents receive all their packages in a timely manner.
The second complex, Velocity, is a 118-unit apartment building located at 200 Des Moines Street in the Bridge District of downtown Des Moines. The four-story building will feature walk-up units, large floor plans, a rooftop patio, resort-style pool house, yoga room and fitness center, and an area for bicycle storage and repair. A 77-stall parking garage will also be available for residents to make transportation downtown more convenient.
A unique new construction project, Hubbell is in the process of building a rental townhouse community on Southwest Seventh Street near the Jackson Street Bridge. The project will provide rooftop views of the Raccoon River and bring another 47 residential units to downtown Des Moines. Available with two- or three bedroom options, the three-story townhomes will feature a top-floor master bedroom suite with balconies on each side. Renters can also find living space with up to three and a half bathrooms. Designed by Slingshot Architecture, the community will have narrow streets and connect to the downtown trails.
Wyckoff Heating & Cooling, is excited to meet the heating and cooling needs of diversified living spaces in downtown Des Moines. New construction opportunities are a way for companies like Hubbell and Wyckoff to improve our communities, expand housing options for local residents and bring new life to central Iowa.
